Where do I work?

Eurobent is one of the leading producers of Geosynthetic Clay Liners (GCL) in the world. GCL is a liner which incorporates bentonite, an absorbent aluminum phyllosilicate which swells on contact with water. Eurobent has two production plants: one located in Świdnica (South West Poland), and the second, since 2015, in Xanthi (North East Greece). The Greek plant is a Joint Venture project in cooperation with Thrace Plastics.

Eurobent employs ca. 45 people.

GCL application

Geosynthetic clay barriers are mainly used in such fields as landfill base and capping, mining, environmental isolations and construction waterproofing. Various types of GCL can be used in tank storage sites, flat roofs, basements, canals and storage reservoirs, filtering reservoirs, run-off basins or roads leading through environmentally sensitive areas.

What is GCL?

The abbreviation GCL stands for Geosynthetic Clay Liner. It’s a factory-manufactured hydraulic barrier which incorporates bentonite, a mineral clay which swells on contact with water. A typical GCL consists of two layers of geosynthetic textiles needle-punched together, enclosing a layer of bentonite.

Typically, woven and non-woven geosynthetic are used in the production of GCL. Eurobent high-quality bentonite liners are also known under the following trade names: bentonite blankets, bentonite mats, bentonite cloths.
